Wisconsin
The center of the Driftless region.
While the largest protected area (Whitewater) is in Minnesota, and this proposal mainly focuses on Minnesota lands, our neighbors across the river have more to offer too.

We do not think Wisconsin lands are necessary for the realization of the park, but some already public areas would make sense to be included, and could add up upwards of 24,000 acres to the park. A full report on these Wisconsin lands can be found between pages 31-37 of the proposal. These include:
-
Perrot State Park (pictured above)
-
Trempealeau National Wildlife Refuge
-
Merrick State Park
-
Whitman Dam Wildlife Area
-
Tiffany Wildlife Area,
-
Nelson-Trevino Bottoms
